Activity controller

The activity controller is the dashboard of W.I.D for monitoring your activities and hours.

The activity controller is divided in two parts: activity selector and activity duration.

The activity selector is where you interact with your activity lists to manage, start or pause them. The duration of the activity is a summary of the total number of hours of your activities by type.

The activity controller is also your gateway to "Activity report" and "Options" from the buttons at the top.

Activity selector

The activity selector is the heart of W.I.D for managing your activities.

The activity selector is divided into three sections: selection buttons, selected activity and activity list.

The selection buttons give you access to the underlying list. The selected activity indicates the activity being recorded. The activity list displays a particular type of activity or the history of the latest selected activities.

Selection buttons

There are three visible types of list of activities and one hidden list for absence activities.

Two for work activity (T1, T2), one for pause activity and one for absence activity.

Each button has a context menu accessible with the right mouse button.

The first button has an extra context menu entry to go to the hidden list of absence.

The list of absence is already filled with some activities. You can add your own or rename the ones that are already there.

The other buttons have also their contextual renaming menu.

It might be helpful to rename T1 and T2 to the type of work activity your are doing (Project, Client, Internal, etc.).

Enter the new name for the activity type and save it.

Selected activity

The selected activity indicates the activity being recorded. A text-bubble reminds you of the activity selected at the configured intervals.

Clicking on the current activity displays the history in the activity list.

Activity list

The activity list displays a particular type of activity or the history of the latest activities.

From an activity list context you can rename, add or exclude activities.

You exclude activities that are terminated to keep your lists short. Excluded activities are visible in the reports.

From an activity list context you can also move an activity to another type (except for absence).

It is mostly useful between work type T1 and T2.

From the history list context you can manage the history of your activities.

Activity duration

Activity duration displays activity totals by type. Totals are displayed for the day, week, and month.

The duration of the current activity replaces the name of the activity type.

The total hours of the day and week are highlighted when they are equal or greater than their configured values.
